Large–scale Chinese companies plan to invest in Sri Lanka

The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka announced today that several large-scale Chinese companies are set to invest in Sri Lanka.

In a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat, Hu Wei, the Deputy Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Colombo, presented a financial assurance letter from the Exim Bank of China to Mahinda Siriwardena, the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.

During the meeting, Hu Wei revealed that Chinese companies are eager to explore new investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, and are planning to visit the country in the near future. The Secretary to the President, Saman Ekanayake, was also in attendance.

This move is expected to boost economic growth in Sri Lanka and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
